Mountain Community Chorus

The Mountain Community Chorus exists first, to provide an opportunity for choral singers in our mountain region to study and perform a variety of high-quality choral literature; second, to provide for the listening public a cultural offering not readily available in this area; and third, to promote the art of choral music and its performance as a primary means of uniting people through the language of peace and brotherhood.

Our History:
The Community Chorus was formed in 1974 as the Choral Society, under the direction of Dr. James Carley. In 1985, Dr. Carley retired as director and William H. Fox, head of the music department of Young Harris College, accepted the directorship.

Performances:
April and December performances at Sharp United Methodist Church, Young Harris College, or area churches.

Rehearsals/Auditions:
Regular rehearsals are held in the Clegg Recital Hall of Young Harris College in Young Harris, GA, each Monday, 7-9pm. Those with music skills should call Director Bill Fox at 706.379.3428 or President Karen Borchers at 828.835.9465 for more information.

Non-singers may assist with other activities such as ushering, refreshments, fund raising events, etc. Call Ann Atkinson at 706.379.1285 for information.
